Building Chemistry When Coaching Youth Football

The best youth football coaches are not only very good X and O guys and great teachers, they are outstanding at bringing their teams together. One of the best I've seen at doing that is my friend Tony Holland from Baltimore. Tony has been using our theory for the last 3 years and has had some overwhelming results. He has some very unique techniques he uses to bring his teams together. Tony is a voracious pupil and has taken some concepts he has used so successfully in his business and applied it to his youth football team to make it better and enhance the touch for his kids.

Laying the Foundation of Your Youth Football Team

Like us, Tony divides his team into multiple groups of 5-6 players. We do the same and assign a coach to each group and allow the group to name their minuscule "team". By organizing your team in this way the kids feel more connected. When you are running circuit type drills and take a break, it is much easier calling out each group by name and sending that group to the next station. The kids often take pride in their minuscule group. We've found when doing competing drills or the fun team building drills from the group, the kids have more fun and effort greater when there is competition in the middle of groups. By holding kids in those smaller groups, the kids associate quicker and deeper which in turn improves their fun and commitment levels.

Laying The Solid Rock Foundation

Tony takes this a step further. Before the season, Tony goes to Walmart and buys a bunch of small plane round rocks. His team is the Ravens, so Tony spray paints each rock purple and puts Ravens stickers on each rock. After each institution the coach of each of the groups awards a rock to one player in his group who has listened the best and efforted the hardest. Each coach hands out the rock to his group winner before the whole team at the end of each practice. Tony said his kids go nuts over getting these minuscule rocks. He calls the effort the kids put during institution as the foundation (rock) of success for his team. The foundation is built with the help of these strong minuscule rocks that cost Tony less than .25 each.

Lifetime Lessons From Youth Football

These easy and reasonable rocks are treasured by Tony's players. One player in fact was involving and mentioned to Tony he had put his treasured rocks in a box and made sure he got them to his new house. It was as if these rocks were his most treasured possession. He told Tony "I'm holding my rocks forever"m which brought a huge and knowing smile to the lips of my buddy Tony. The teams parents even bought in after some first skepticism and now are all for it after finding the results.

Just think about this kid, 40 years from now in 2048, this same kid is involving again. He is now 49 years old and loading his belongings into the involving truck. He takes a look at that last small box from the attic. In that box are a few old scrapbooks, some old kids trophies and his minuscule box of treasured rocks from Tony Holland, he got back in 2008. 40 years from now that player will still remember Tony and his lessons on effort, commitment and team work. How many other people are going to remember you 40 years from now? Think about that.

I met him in my chemistry class and while it was not love at first sight, we got to know each other straight through studying/flirting and ending up hooking up in his dorm room. I know it's not going to be a long term thing which I'm fine with and I'm sure he's happy about it-Caroline, 23

Whether or not you believe in a Fwb relationship, they exist and are addition in popularity for their ease and immediate gratification. In essence, it is a staple of our culture today and many students in college have admitted to having had one. So what are the real benefits other than the sexual pleasure?

Well for starters, it's a mutually beneficial relationship that is no strings attached where both parties are free to do whatever they like. Now sure, that may sound like its all fun and games but what happens when your friend with benefits wants to be more than just friends? Having a great time can fast lead to other emotions to blossom and soon that friend may be wanting a exiguous more than quick tumble in the sheets. They may want to even spoon!

Friends with benefits situations can be a great time and I'm sure many of you have engaged in similar activities. Mind you that this is not the same as a one night stand. The friendship and bond formed in the middle of the two of you are a great way to join together and the two of you may even honestly like to hang out or be with each other face the confines of a sheet and pillows. So is there any romance in such a relationship and how is it handled? In these types of situations, because your meetings are multiple in nature, you will have a inescapable element of romance involved. Sure, it may not be the wine and dine Hollywood style cliche but, it also not a wham, bam, thank you mam (although it may feel like it at times). One of the great things about a friend with benefits is that you can also talk to them and review in other ways than just casual sex.

For any guys reading this, please remember that a friend with advantage situation does not mean that chivalry is dead. We still want an occasional snack or even, dare I say it, a full meal! We are both satisfying each other's needs but if you are starting to get clingy or disrespectful, you can forgot about our next tryst. The advantage is in our court so try not to mess it up and go with the flow.

The Uh-Oh

So what if your friend with advantage meet's person else and then has to break it off with you? Will you be alright with this and can you emotionally detach yourself from the person? I remember a good friend once asked if they should have a Fwb with their ex that they had broken up with 5 months ago. I told her it was a bad decision and would finally bring up those negative emotions and feelings that flooded her when they split previously but, she refused didn't take my advice. Well, they started but, shortly thereafter, he told her she was being needy and he needed space. This demoralized her again and while she finally got over it (after meeting person else), those type of feelings shouldn't occur. Remember when you are about to get into a Fwb, have a clear mind and know what you want from the other person.

Now of course, there may (and in most cases, its inevitable) come a time where one of you will start to fabricate feelings that are serious as you are reasoning about a long term relationship. That's fine and pretty normal but when that occurs, the two of you then need to talk. I'm not going to tell you about the things to look for in a relationship because that's a whole other story but remember that it drastically changes the dynamic of the situation.

If it does come to that point, you two are at an interesting crossroad and you must be forward with each other about your motivations for the current status quo and what you want, either that be long term or just this month.

"Chemistry" means a lot to women, but not for men. This should not be confused with love. This state of "chemistry with a guy" happens when 2 people 1st meet each other. It can last for months and tends to wear off with time and familiarity.

Chemistry is triggered in women under the following situations:

(a) when a guy behaves in a "naughty" way
(b) when he is perceived to be unpredictable
(c) just when a woman feels she understands him, then he switches back to his unusual self, confuses her, thus giving the guy some air of "mysterious"

When a woman is in a state of "intense chemistry" with a guy, he will all the time be in her mind. "Brief separation" from her can raise this intensity as she 'hungers' to have more time with him. Under the corollary of intense chemistry (where 'longing' is the driving factor) women tends to rationalize the inevitable bad behavior of the guy. He is lazy and without a stable job and keeps asking for money from her. She views him as being down on his luck and needs to be helped. A man gets more satisfaction out of knowing he has made his partner happy and accomplished than he does if you have made him happy.

A woman's stress is reduced when she feels her partner has taken performance in supporting her, as this increases her hormone oxytocin. But with a man the opposite is true. A man's stress is reduced when he feels victorious in meeting his partner's needs, as this increases his testosterone. So if she leaves some things off of her to do list and allows him to do some of them, they both feel less stressed. She feels less overwhelmed by her never-ending list of to do's because she has given some away. He feels less stressed, because he knows he is helping his partner and that she is going to be happy with him for helping her.

You may find that by giving less to him and allowing him to help fulfill your needs, you both feel less stressed. This may improve your connection in many ways. When both partners have healthier brain chemistry, they will tend to have a healthier relationship. Holding both partners less stressed and happier may just bring back that spark that was once there in the beginning of the relationship. And at the very least, may cause a new spark with a newfound happiness with one an additional one and a sense of fulfillment that hadn't been there before.

Cooking Up Chemistry in the Kitchen!

Hey kids, when most habitancy hear the word "chemistry", they think of creepy laboratories with bubbling beakers of toxic goo. But chemistry can happen any time two distinct things react together to make something new, and there are fun science experiments that you can do right in your kitchen!

Experiment 1: Magic Mud

All you need for this experiment is some cornstarch, water, and a small bit of food colouring to show it off.

1. Add 5 tablespoons of cornstarch to a bowl. Make sure you use something to scrape off the extra starch so you have a nice level spoonful.

2. Add 3 tablespoons of water to the bowl.

3. Add 3 drops of food colouring.

4. Stir the mixture.

This aggregate should be hard to stir unless you stir very, very slowly. If it seems runny, add a few pinches more cornstarch. If it seems as a matter of fact dry, add a bit more water.

Now try squeezing a small bit of your magic mud in the middle of your fingers and rolling it into a ball. Then open your hand and watch what happens. Poke the top of your magic mud quickly, and your finger will bounce off. But if you sink your finger in slowly, the mud will swallow it up! It acts like a liquid and a solid!

For a real adventure, try using the same measurements (5 parts cornstarch, 3 parts water) to make up a as a matter of fact big batch in a large pan, or even a kids' swimming pool! If you run fast enough, you can as a matter of fact run over the top of the magic mud. Just don't slow down, or you'll find yourself sinking into the goo!

Experiment 2: The predicted Giant Hand

For this experiment, you will need baking soda, vinegar, and a rubber glove. If you don't have one, you could use a balloon to make The predicted Giant Head.

1. Use a ticket to draw hair on the rubber glove (or a face on the balloon).

2. Carefully add a few spoonfuls of baking soda to the glove.

3. Pour some vinegar into the glove.

4. Tie the glove closed, like you would a balloon. Shake it colse to a bit.

Now watch what happens. The hand (or head) will grow!

When the solid baking soda and the liquid vinegar meet, they react to form a gas called carbon dioxide.
They make so much of it that it will blow up your balloon for you.

Experiment 3: Acid or Alkali

For this experiment, you need some beetroot or red cabbage. It also provides you with a tasty snack.

1. Have an adult help you boil the cabbage or beetroot until the water changes colour.

2. Accumulate some of the coloured water.

Scientists use something called pH indicator to quantum how acid or alkali something is. distinct acids and alkalis will make the indicator turn distinct colours.

You've just made pH indicator. Have an adult help you test small amounts of your coloured water with acids and alkalis colse to the house. Vinegar, juice, household cleaners, antacid tablets, and baking soda are good places to start.

The more acidic something is, the lower the pH number. See if you can outline out the pH of your test subjects:

Where is Gold Found?

Gold is well-known and treasured mineral that touches all of our lives, but most of us at some point wonder where gold is found. The Seduction of a Married Man

What is it about a married man that is so irresistible?

It must be something because so many women fall for it. Just this week I encountered two women who have slipped into the trap of fatal attraction for a married man. It is dangerous territory and I do not propose that anyone go there. I speak from palpate having invested part of my life in a relationship with a married man. Iam not writing about this branch to lecture or be judgmental or even to speak from my soapbox about what I know that you don't. My intention is to expose the underhanded tactics, even if unintentional, of men and the naiveté of women that permits these relationships to flower.

What is it about women that make them susceptible to the charm and attraction of an unavailable man?

The unavailable man is very enthralling to women who do not want to be controlled by a man. He can provide sporadic attention, sex, usually at regular intervals, definitely advice even when you don't ask for it and gifts. You don't have to live with him,which means no snoring, picking up after him, and usually relaxation to comeand go as you please. The disadvantages include wee spontaneity,lack of availability on weekends and holidays and never being his whole one priority.

This is not to say that men do not fall for married women. I am
certain that the statistics will hold that almost as many particular men fall for married women but the dynamic between themis much dissimilar than that of the particular woman and the married man. Obviously, I have more palpate with the married man syndrome.

Women in general are used to getting seconds.

What I mean by that is that women choose to rule for less than
what they want. Okay, I expect outrage from most of you who are
reading this but hear me out, please. In this country, men have the power. Look colse to you, how many women president's do we have? How many in the Senate, Congress, Ceo's of Fortune 500 companies? How many women make as much money as men do? think teaching and nursing, two professions primarily busy by women, what ration of men are in the profession and what ration ofthose are in charge? How many men choose to stay home with thchildren while their wives work and hold the family? You get the idea. Granted there are many more women in positions of authority, in medicine, the law, entrepreneurs,real estate, finance, enterprise than ever before, but if you are going to be honest with yourself, it's still a man's world. This is okay.

We can live with the fact that men run the world, because women run relationships.

Women, you honestly are in payment of relationship even if you don't know it. You just need to raise the bar a wee on what youexpect from your relationship. What I mean by women being used to settling is they don't ask. Let me give you an example. A woman friend of mine works for a big company; she uses her own computer and pays for her own Internet passage even though the majority of her computer usage is for her work activities. She has asked the men who run the enterprise to be reimbursed for the cost of her computer andInternet passage and has been denied. Her first inclination was to accept this, until she realized: How many men who use a computer in their job, use their own computer let alone pay for their Internet access? Men expect to be in case,granted with the tools that they need to do their job, women provide their own tools and accept it when they are denied reimbursement. Where does this willingness to be used originate? I think that it originated when women first began to invade the workplace. Women weren't greeted with open arms when they first arrived in the workplace. In order to be accepted, they worked twice as hard, longer hours, tolerated abuse in many ways that a man never would and were eager to please, seeking approval and acceptance by over responding. (Actually, women were welcomed in the workplace during World War Ii but only because men weren't available. When the men returned, the women were thinkable, to go back home where they belonged.)

Much of women's acceptance of second-class rehabilitation is their own fault, because they don't even ask for it to be different.

Okay, I am a wee off the branch of married men, but let me
follow this through to the connection. Let's look at a wife. The
majority of wives work these days, they also are the traditional
childcare provider, and most of them do most of the housework and laundry and cooking and shopping as well. They are also thinkable, by their husbands to be sexy and ready for a quickie at the drop of his pants. Women do all this because they put these standards on themselves. They still expect that they have to do more and do it best because they are women. So where does a woman cut back? usually it is in paying attentiveness to her husband's traditional needs. A man needs sex and most married men will tell you that the whole of sex that they get dwindles after marriage and especially after children. In addition, the whole of time that a woman has to devote to the nurturing, acceptance, approval and attentiveness to her husband decreases proportionately with the expanding of children, job responsibilities and a bigger house.

So this leads us to the plight of the married man.

Who is the married man? First of all he is a man. Men are results oriented. Men have a lot of testosterone. They aren't good at deciphering what women want, especially their own wives.The married man used to run his own life. He came and went as he pleased; he watched or played baseball whenever he wanted. He lived his own lifestyle. He could have his woman withhim whenever hewanted and she would pay all of her attentiveness to him. Now he is marriedwith a incorporate of kids, a mortgage, a job he has because it pays themost, not because he loves it so much and a wife who used to cater to him exclusively who now has to divide her time between him, the kids, the house and usually her job. There was a commercial on Tv not too long ago that shows a man thinking about his studly particular days and how sexy he was in those days, with a child in a stroller. He is playing with his child and shopping in the grocery store and a woman is talking to her friend who comments he doesn't even know how much more enthralling he is now than he was when he was a stud.

Men are pretty unconscious about what makes them attractive.

According to most women it is not their looks that make them
attractive, it is who they are and how they yield in the world. So this married man goes to work and comes home and goes back to work the next day. At work there is this woman. She is single, attractive, smart, capable, speaks his language andsomeone who has time to pay attentiveness to him. It starts as an innocent flirtation. What goes through his mind is something like "Let's see if I still have it!" so he starts flirting just to see what happens. Not a surprise, she responds to the flirting by flirting back.

This is the beginning of the affair.

In his mind he is flattered, it is fun, and enthralling and just a
little bit naughty. What could be more harmless? I'm married.I'm
safe. I can just have a wee fun with this. So it continues.He
thinks he can just experiment a little. Let's see how charming and creative I can be. Let's see if I can get this woman to fall for me. In his mind it is not cheating. He hasn't done anyone wrong. In the beginning, he even tells his wife about this woman. He tells her about how smart she is or about some accomplishment, usuallywhat made him notice her in the firstplace. Wives usually miss the first clues. The concept of the follow of his harmless flirtation onthe particular woman does not even enter his consciousness. So the harmless flirtation continues. It makes the married man feel good. He is happier at home and everything seems hunky dory. He tells the woman his wife doesn't understand him, she doesn't have time for him, or she just is cruel to him and the other woman becomes his confidant and starts to believe that he honestly has no choice in the matter. He needs her because his wife is so ... Whatever.

He now has both a wife and house and a woman on the side.

Recognize that this process may take any years and any
different women before anyone honestly happens in the way of an
affair. After any years of living a cut off life from his wife while they live under the same roof, a married man is ready for a real affair. The reality is that an affair will occur either it is an emotional or physical affair or even a cyber affair. No matter which way it goes, what occurs takes away from the married relationship.

What is true about the woman who gets complicated with a married man is that she is finding for attentiveness and affection.

Most likely she is not finding for a married man with whom she is plotting to have an affair. There are a few predatory women out there who do just that but the majority of affairs start out
naively. She is likely to have been previously hurt in a
relationship. She may or may not know that the man is married. What occurs first is she recognizes that he is paying attentiveness to her. He may just listen to her. It may just be a momentary encounter where their eyes meet and a relationship is made. They may be working together on a project and either of them may distinguishthemselves in some way. What initially happens is likely to be chemistry. What happens after that varies, however, it usually follows this pattern.

When the woman discovers that he is married, she will make it clear that she doesn't have relationships with married men.

That is the signal for the man to go into conquest mode.

He will pursue her perhaps for years because he enjoys the chase. She will continue to refuse his advances as long as she cantolerate it or until he catches her at a weak and vulnerable moment. If she has a good relationship in her life, chances areshe can outlast him, but if she is single, ready or married and unhappy, she will at last succumb. Why? Because the man is so charming, heis wonderful, he is a knight in shining armor, he is a hero, he is this wonderful dedicated house man who is wonderful with his children and attentive to his wife. So the woman asks herself what is she doing?

She continues to say no and the more she says no, the more
aggressive and charming and attentive he gets. This is the ultimate male challenge, to win over a woman who is saying no even though he knows she honestly is attracted to him.

A married man will work harder than any ready man to make a
woman fall in love with him.

He will be more charming, loving, attentive and wonderful than a
woman can imagine that any man can be. So what happens next is this woman who ultimately surrenders to her feelings for this man, asks him to leave his wife for her. The response from him will almost inevitably be one of two, but I'm married and I'll neverleave my wife or yes, I'll leave my wife, but not yet (she's not ready,my children are too young, I can't afford it yet, my mother won't approve etc.) Initially the woman will talk with anger. "If you love your wife what are you doing with me?" Here is the clincher that ultimately hooks the woman, he is committed to his wife and the woman buys into his honorable dedication to his wife and thinks if only I could have a man who loves me like that.

It is at this point in their relationship that the woman's final act of settling may occur.

Either she will end it and go off to nurse her broken heart,
wondering how he could have been so wonderful and such a heel atthe same time, or she will continue the affair and rule forbeing the other woman in his life. either way the woman is damaged. The man will go back to his wife who was either thoroughly unaware of the romantic drama or who also chooses to rule by living in denial of his infidelity. Then life goes on.

The other woman plays a primary part in the perpetuation of this man's marriage.

She makes it tolerable for him to remain in an intolerable
situation. She makes it potential for him to remain in a marriage
that doesn't satisfy him. That marriage situation can range from
boredom to outright contempt, but a man won't leave his marriage
until his wife has dismissed him, either consciously or
unconsciously. She makes it potential for him to deny that there is anyone missing in his relationship with his wife. Therefore, the wife wins, if you can call it winning to stay ina relationship with a cheating man.

The purpose in discussing this at all is to emphasize the fact that women rule and men will cheat because they can. So, women, if you want your man to be faithful, you must pay attentiveness and never rule for less than what you want no matter what the cost.

The essence of marriage is commitment. Why get married if you are not willing to commit to loving man exclusively? The way that I see it, you don't have to get married to be together, so why do it if you don't mean it? I was married for 23 years and was strongly in favor of the concept of a renewable marriage license, similar tohow one renews a driver's license. The point of that beingthat at least very 3 or 4 years population who were married to each otherwould have to take a look at either they still wanted to be with their spouse. If population were honest about their feelings, it honestly would take a chunk out of the 50% disunion rate.

On a more serious note, however, I honestly don't see any point in
getting married unless you are marrying man with whom youhave sexual chemistry that you love totally, that you trust implicitly, and that you would rather be with than anyone else who alsofeels the same about you. That feeling of total trust isvery rare and itneeds to be nurtured. It's also good if you have similar values and goals in life. If and when you find man that meets all ofthe above standards, you probably couldn't imagine wanting to bewith anyone else. That spiritual bond can be so strong andso valid that it would be out of the realm of possibility to violate it.

It is impossible to ever have that kind of trust if you enter a
relationship that originated with man cheating.

So what happens to destroy that traditional bond? It is the woman'sjob to provide the appetite for delight and the direction for therelationship. This does not relieve men of any accountability for it is their job to surrender to their woman's power and to yield results for her based on what she requests. So, in a relationship that is working the woman must continue to raise the bar for her man and believe in him. What does that mean? That she wants a bigger house, more expensive car, more children? Not necessarily although thosethings may be part of the picture. What it does mean is that she raises the standards of paying attentiveness even when life is busy. It means that they make time for sex even when they don't have time. It meansthat each one of them stay vulnerable with each other even whenhe/she has done something that embarrasses them or is wrong.

In my marriage, I did it all wrong. I doubted his production,
thought I could do things best than him and lost my capability to
believe in him. When that happened, he quit producing for me and we spiraled downward into total mistrust of each other and
unwillingness to be vulnerable. I kept settling for less than what I asked for and he kept producing only what I believed he could produce. I just didn't know any better.

It's a fragile bond that must be protected and as far as I can see what will protect the bond of love is a woman expressing her
appetite that requests more than the man thinks he can yield and then even more vital is that she approves of him and believes in him until he produces it. The most primary element of maintaining a love relationship that works is that both parties must pay attentiveness to each other and to what is happening in the relationship. Going to doubt or settling for less than what she wants is the beginning of the destruction of the delicate balance of the man/woman relationship. In this model of relationship, men and women are regarded as dissimilar entities with dissimilar needs. It relies on using the sex act as the metaphor for relationship, symbolizing men as producers and women as receivers.

There are no victims.

Chemical convert Science Projects - Cool Chemistry That a student Can Do

Chemistry science projects involving a chemical change are often chosen by middle and high school students. Many kids like to do an experiment with a dramatic chemical change. When searching for a project, it can be difficult to find an experiment with chemicals that are easy to find, and easy to work with.

One beloved scheme inviting chemicals is an experiment determining which fruit or fruit juice has the most vitamin C. A uncomplicated indicator is made with cornstarch and iodine. Students (and parents) enjoy watching the chemical reaction that occurs along with titration, which is a fancy way of saying "putting in drops". This scheme can be modified in some different ways, allowing your student's creativity to shine. We get letters from many students telling us that this easy science scheme was submitted to the fair, and was chosen as a winner.

Another great science scheme inviting a chemical change is watching what happens as yeast 'eats' sugar.  In this project, warm water and yeast are located in a bottle with a bit of sugar. A balloon is located over the mouth of the bottle. As the yeast consumes the sugar, carbon dioxide is released, causing the balloon to blow up. This scheme is so much fun to watch that our kids did it over and over until we ran out of yeast.

Both of these projects can be done as demonstrations; they offer dramatic reactions that students will be able to witness immediately. Both science projects can also be experiments. They naturally lend themselves to a question, the formation of an hypothesis, and testing. The results can certainly be graphed to form a conclusion.

Mood control - Food, Neurotransmitters And Reclaiming Your Calm

You and I know that we can't all the time control what happens in our lives, but we can control how we answer to them. What happens however when your having a bad week, your peri-menopausal or pre-menstrual? Well science might have an answer.

Let me introduce you to the world of brain chemistry and a superior group of natural chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters. The communication network in your brain is a multi-trillion maze of connections capable of performing 20 million-billion calculations per second. Yes, I did say 20 billion!

How does this intricate network operate? Well there are three major players:

  • Neurons, which power the message,
  • Neurotransmitters, which create the message and
  • Receptors, which receive the message.

In straightforward words, a neurotransmitter is a chemical messenger released from one nerve cell which finds its way to another nerve cell where it influences a singular chemical reaction to occur. Neurotransmitters control major body functions together with movement, emotional response, and our corporal capability to contact satisfaction and pain.

Neurotransmitters also set in appeal exact functions within our body and our nervous system.     But it also makes it harder for them to move freely straight through those small capillaries. This means less oxygen gets to your cells. Acid also weakens the red blood cells and they begin to die. And guess what they issue into your system when they die? More acid.

    I could recapitulate a whole list of processes that occur when your system becomes and remains acid but I think you get the idea. The point is that aside from the acid that is secreted into your stomach to aid digestion, acid in your body is bad. precisely bad.
